Dialysis and Kidney Transplant Journey: A Woman’s Inspiring Story
KWF

Sreedevi Purushothaman narrated her story. It was truly inspirational to listen to her narrate:
"I've been in and out of hospitals since the age of 10. At 12 years of age, I experienced partial paralysis of a leg. I recovered after six months and was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), which is the most common type of lupus. SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, causing widespread inflammation. Tissues become damaged, affecting the organs. It can affect the joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels.
I had my first transplant when I was 15 years old, and it gave me a normal life for 14 years. The second transplant lasted 8 years, and for the past three years, I have been on dialysis.
As a single parent to a twenty-year-old handsome son, I work and undergo dialysis!
About me: I love life, music, dogs, travelling, and I look forward to a beautiful life ❤"
